The first photo, taken from our front verandah or "stoep" possibly 1958, shows the home of our neighbours the Hagns.  Their house was directly opposite ours & was between your property, to the right & the building which was the original Synagogue but by then was used as a 'Hall", to the left.  (In this photo Mr Hagn can be seen cutting down a palm tree in his front garden with the help of a gardener).

And of course you know this one - the (new) Synagogue, also probably taken around 1958.
