This photo was taken in the first half of 1952 in our backyard:  from left, yours truly, then my Dad holding my brother Terry.  Obviously taken by my Mom, we'd just come from Terry's Christening Church service.

On the first birthday of my brother Terry - 6th Jan 1953 - in our backyard.  The red dot marks the spot you, my Dad and my garndma stood in the 1959 photo below.  Hopkins Street is towards the top of the photo with the McIntyre's house towards the left.  Terry & I are on the stretch of "lawn" where Norman, Mellvyn & I stood in the photos with our guitars.

The next 2 photos were taken somewhere around 1954:  in the first one I'm sitting on our "lawn" with a maternal cousin of mine, Marjorie - and Terry is sitting in front of her.  In the next photo Marjorie & I are standing trying to hold Terry upright!!!

Around Dec 1958 / Jan 1959:  me, my Mom & my Dad next to the very first family car we ever owned (a 1948 Chrysler!!).

This photo, taken in our backyard, circa 1959, probably by me, shows from left Bertha Berger, my Dad ("Hoppy" Cassidy) & my maternal grandmother, Mrs Malan.  This is the only photo I have of Bertha.  Behind you all can be seen the fence separating our property from that of our landlord, the McIntyres.  (Take note of the tap with a bucket underneath, behind and to the right of my grandma!!)

Late 1959 in our backyard:  Terry in front of me and, on my right my maternal cousin Danie, on my left his brother Johan.  McIntyre's residence is behind us.

Late 1959 / early 1960:  my Dad & I near our backdoor in Hopkins street.

I guesstimate I took this one around 1960:   my Dad & Terry in the municipal "park" near the Parow Municipal buildings & the Parow Fire Station (in the background).

I guesstimate this to have been taken around 1963:   my Dad & Terry walking in Adderley Street Cape Town.
