The next project must have been somewhere around 1987, some time after my divorce (in April 1986!!).  I'd noticed that all the trees had been cut down in a field opposite the Durbanville High School.  I approached the Principal and asked him whether there would be any objection to my sawing and chopping up these trunks and branches.

I had a pretty good idea of what must have gone through his mind when I chatted to him - one could read it in his face!!!  But that sort of reaction had never fazed me - the important thing was that he gave me the okay to "knock myself out" on these trees.  I probably worked there about 5-6 sessions before I realised I could not justify the cost of petrol travelling from Kenilworth to Durbanville just to get some excercise!!!  So, this was a very short project but one which still provided me with a few good workouts and some amusing times watching the reactions of pupils, staff and parents from the high school!!!

Needless to say, even though it was summer weather, as I was no longer in the physical shape I was in 15 years previously, on this project I did NOT strip to the waist and I wore denim jeans instead of shorts he he he!!!!!
